Reverse Print

The most common printing in Gravure printed Flexible packaging is “reverse” print. Reverse print is usually done in the case the final product is a laminate, whether a 2 layer or a 3 layer. During the process of lamination, the printed surface is sandwiched between the inner printed layer and the secondary layer (either the sealant layer) or the second laminate (eg. Metalized PET or Foil) in a 3 layer construction. The benefit of reverse printing is that the ink can never be scrubbed or scuffed off.
